PORTLAND, Ore. –– The City of Portland, Ore., has filed a lawsuit against Monsanto Co., contending that the company contaminated its water with polychlorinated biphenyls, presenting “serious risks to the health of humans, wildlife, and the environment.
The City of Portland filed the lawsuit on July 12 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon.
According to the complaint, Monsanto Co. was the sole manufacturer of PCBs in the United States for more than 40 years.
