Ohio Jury Adds $500,000 in Punitive Damages in C-8 Case Against DuPont; Verdict Now Totals $5.6 Million

COLUMBUS, Ohio –– An Ohio jury has added $500,000 in punitive damages to a $5.1 million verdict it reached this week in favor of the second bellwether C-8 water contamination plaintiff, reinforcing its finding that defendant E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. had acted with actual malice.
The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio jury reached a decision on punitive damages on July 8; they further found that the defendant is liable for the plaintiff’s attorney fees.
