Miss. Man Files Roundup Lawsuit, Says Agricultural Workers ‘Victims of Corporate Greed’

GREENVILLE, Miss. –– A Mississippi man has filed a lawsuit against Monsanto Co., contending that exposure to glyphosate in the company’s Roundup product caused him to develop cancer.

In the June 24 complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi, the plaintiff accused Monsanto of representing its Roundup product as safe to humans and to the environment, despite evidence to the contrary.

Plaintiff Lawrence Gary Couey said that he began using Roundup in approximately 1979 when working as an agricultural pilot, or crop duster, and continued to use the product for 37 years.
