WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A Florida electrician who worked for a state water resource facility has sued Monsanto Co., alleging that glyphosate in the Roundup-brand herbicide he used to clear weeds during slower workdays caused him to develop non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
In a complaint filed April 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Enrique Ruiz and his wife Stephanie contended that, for decades, Monsanto withheld critical data from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) linking Roundup to certain cancers, including NHL.
