New Complaint Says Use of Roundup on Coffee Crop Caused Farmer’s non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

SACRAMENTO, Calif. –– A new complaint filed in California federal court asserts that use of Roundup on a coffee crop for approximately eight years led the farmer to develop non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
In the Nov. 5 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the plaintiff argued that Monsanto knew that the glyphosate-containing Roundup was dangerous and misrepresented to consumers that it was safe.
Plaintiff Christine Sheppard asserted the claims, maintaining that she applied Roundup to her commercial coffee crop in the 1990s.
