Dallas Jury Awards $8.2 Million at Conclusion of Mechanic’s Benzene Trial

DALLAS –– A jury in Texas has awarded a career mechanic $8.2 million at the conclusion of a benzene trial against DuPont, HarrisMartin is reporting.
Judge Jim Jordan of the Texas 160th Judicial District Court for Dallas County presided over the trial, which lasted for just over two weeks and ended on Oct. 20 after four-and-a-half hours of deliberations.
Sources told HarrisMartin that DuPont was the lone remaining defendant at the time of the verdict.
The plaintiffs alleged that the exposed, a career mechanic who was employed by Timpte Trailer, developed leukemia as a result of exposure to benzene. …
