Parties in Louisiana Benzene Lawsuits Reach Settlement Agreements 7 Months After Being Filed

NEW ORLEANS –– Settlement agreements have been reached in a number of benzene lawsuits pending in Louisiana federal court, just seven months after they were filed, according to recent court documents.

Orders dismissing claims asserted in at least three benzene cases were entered by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana on July 16.

In its orders, the court said that it had been advised that the parties had “firmly agreed upon a compromise.”
