Pa. Court Denies Efforts by 9 Benzene Defendants to Obtain Summary Judgment

PHILADELPHIA –– A Pennsylvania trial court has denied efforts by defendants Husky Energy Inc. and Lima Refining Co., to obtain summary judgment in a benzene case, rejecting their position that they could not be held liable for the decedent’s alleged injuries.
In a series of orders entered in May, the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas also denied motions for summary judgment brought by Sunoco Inc., Valero Energy Corp., Paulsboro Refining Co., The Premcor Refining Group Inc., El Paso LLC, Coastal Eagle Point Oil Co., and El Paso Merchant Energy Petroleum Co.
