La. Federal Court Grants Defense Motion for More Definite Statement in Benzene Case

NEW ORLEANS –– A Louisiana federal court overseeing a recently filed benzene suit has granted a defense motion for a more definite statement, saying the plaintiffs had failed to put the defendants on adequate notice of the claims asserted against them.

In the May 4 order, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana further opined that while the plaintiffs had failed to plead their claims with the requisite specificity, they should be afforded the opportunity to amend their lawsuit.
