Defendants Named in Louisiana Benzene Suit Move to Strike Exhibits Proffered for Admissibility Hearing

NEW ORLEANS –– Defendants in a pending Louisiana benzene case have filed a motion to strike exhibits submitted by plaintiffs for a recent Daubert admissibility hearing, arguing that since the documents were not mentioned during the hearing, they should be stricken.

According to transcripts entered on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana online docket on March 27, the Daubert admissibility hearings were held on Feb. 10 and 11.

The plaintiffs asserted the claims on behalf of Bernard E. Burst Jr., whose work at a number of gas stations allegedly exposed him to benzene-containing gasoline. As a …
