U.S. Steel Files Appellate Brief in Benzene-Related Bulk Supplier Dispute, Says It Had ‘No Control’ Over End Product

SAN FRANCISCO –– U.S. Steel has filed its brief in the appeal of a trial court decision that threw out benzene claims on the ground that they were barred by the bulk supplier defense, maintaining its position that it had no control or input on the allegedly harmful end product.
In the March 2 brief filed with the California First District Court of Appeal, Division Three, the defendant argued that it was Radiator Specialty, not U.S. Steel, that controlled “every aspect of Liquid Wrench’s design.”
