Akzo Nobel Paints Moves to Strike Exhibits filed by Benzene Plaintiffs in Anticipation for Trial

MILWAUKEE –– Akzo Nobel Paints LLC has moved to strike an amended trial exhibit list submitted by the plaintiffs, arguing that when the court continued a trial date in the proceedings, it did not continue the deadline by which pretrial materials were to be submitted.
In the Feb. 10 motion filed with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, Akzo said the additional exhibits are untimely and redundant.
The claims were brought on behalf of Donald Schultz. Schultz’s work as a painter for American Motors Corp., now known as Chrysler, required him to work with benzene-containing paint …
