Louisiana Court Enters Orders Granting Plaintiff Motions to Dismiss Claims Against Dow Chemical, Formosa

NEW ORLEANS –– A Louisiana federal court has dismissed benzene claims pending against two defendants after the plaintiffs moved to voluntarily dismiss the claims as to those parties.

In two separate orders issued Feb. 18, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana dismissed the claims against The Dow Chemical Co. and Formosa Plastics Corp.

The plaintiffs filed the action on behalf of Kevin Boudreaux, who was allegedly exposed to benzene-containing products while working as an instrument technician and maintenance worker at a variety of construction sites.
