Pa. Federal Judge Extends Discovery Deadline in Safety Kleen Benzene Exposure Case

PITTSBURGH — A Pennsylvania federal judge has granted a joint request by the parties in a benzene exposure case to extend the discovery deadline to Oct. 31.
In an Oct. 3 order, Judge Joy F. Conti of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania also rescheduled the post-fact discovery scheduling conference for Nov. 10.
Ruben Grigoryants and his wife allege that Grigoryants was exposed to benzene-containing products while working as a machine operator at Erie Specialty Products. During the course of his employment, Grigoryants was required to wash machine parts with solvents, specifically Safety-Kleen 105 solvent.
