Tenn. Court Allows Continuance of Benzene Trial




KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- A Tennessee federal court has continued the March 2009 trial date of a benzene case after all parties in the case requested more time for discovery. McCarter, et al. v. Amoco Oil Co., et al., No. 06-141 (E.D. Tenn.).

In a Dec. 3 order, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee reset the trial date and discovery deadlines in order to give all parties "additional time to prepare and develop their expert opinions."

The case is now scheduled to begin trial on June 8, 2010.
