Defendants Named in Iowa Benzene Suit Remove Case to Federal Court

DAVENPORT, Iowa –– A defendant named in an Iowa benzene case has removed the lawsuit to federal court, citing complete diversity of citizenship, according to the recently filed removal notice.

In the July 14 removal notice, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa, the defendants maintained that while the plaintiffs are citizens of Iowa, none of the defendants are.

The amount in controversy also exceeds $75,000, the defendants argued.
