Missouri Parties in Mechanic’s AML Case Reach Settlement Agreement

ST. LOUIS –– A Missouri federal court has approved a settlement agreement between the remaining parties in a benzene case, opining that the resolution is “fair and reasonable.”

In a March 26 order, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri granted the plaintiffs’ oral argument to dismiss all claims against all defendants, including Sherwin Williams Co. (NYSE:SHW), Chevron Corp. (NYSE:CVX) and Shell Chemical.

The parties filed a notice of settlement in January, but the federal court did not hold a hearing on the matter until March 26.
