Pennsylvania Benzene Plaintiffs, Safety-Kleen Exchange Briefing on Discovery Dispute

PITTSBURGH –– Pennsylvania benzene plaintiffs and Safety-Kleen Systems Inc. have exchanged briefing on whether Safety-Kleen has asserted valid objections to the plaintiffs’ discovery requests, with the defendant maintaining that the plaintiffs have “propounded sweeping discovery requests.”

In a motion filed March 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the plaintiffs, however, seek to strike the objections and compel responsive answers to their interrogatories, contending that Safety-Kleen has still failed to comply with several discovery requests and the information is now “well overdue.”
