NEW ORLEANS –– Two towing defendants named in a Louisiana benzene action have reached an agreement, according to a recent court order, almost eight months after the case was re-opened because a previously agreed upon compromise was not fulfilled.

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana entered an order of dismissal on March 25, again stating that if the settlement is not consummated within a reasonable time, the parties may move to reopen the action.
