CLL Benzene Case Scheduled for November 2014 Trial in Louisiana Federal Court

NEW ORLEANS –– A Louisiana federal court has scheduled a November trial for a benzene case in which it recently determined that the plaintiff’s maintenance and cure claims could proceed.

According to the March 12 order from the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the parties are required to submit proposed amendments to the pleadings by April 11, defense expert reports by July 3, plaintiff expert reports by Aug. 1, and pre-trial motions by Sept. 25.

A jury trial will begin on Nov. 10 and is expected to last five to seven days, according to the order. …
