Defendants File Answers to Tire Retreader Benzene Lawsuit in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA –– Defendants named in a Pennsylvania benzene suit have begun filing answers to a recently filed lawsuit, in which the plaintiffs assert that the plaintiff developed Myelodysplastic Syndrome as a result of benzene exposure.

The lawsuit, filed in December in the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County, was asserted on behalf of a former tire retreader.

The plaintiffs contend that James Stufft was exposed to benzene-containing products while employed as a tire retreader for 30 years. Among Stufft’s places of employment were York Tire Company and Service Tire Truck Centers, the complaint says.
