Benzene Plaintiff Seeks to Quash Deposition of Daughter, Asks Court to Exclude Defense Expert Testimony

NEW ORLEANS –– Plaintiffs in a Louisiana benzene suit have filed several motions in recent weeks, asking the court to quash a deposition of the plaintiff’s daughter and seeking the exclusion of testimony from several defense experts.
The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana stated in a Jan. 2 online docket entry that a settlement conference had been conducted in the matter but a “settlement can not be reached at this time.”
“Settlement negotiations will continue by telephone,” the District Court also stated.
In the underlying complaint, the plaintiffs contend that Chris Cologne developed non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma …
