Compromise Reached in Benzene Case Asserted by Power Plant Worker

NEW ORLEANS –– A compromise has been reached between a benzene plaintiff and remaining defendants in a case that was scheduled for trial in November.

According to an Oct. 4 order of dismissal, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana was advised by counsel that the parties have “firmly agreed upon a compromise in this matter.”

At one point, trial had been scheduled for Nov. 4. As a result of the settlement agreement, the District Court dismissed the action.
