NEW ORLEANS –– Valero Refining-Texas, L.P., has asked a Louisiana federal court to reconsider its recent order precluding the benzene defendant from arguing that the plaintiff had actual knowledge of the hazards associated with benzene-containing products.

In the Oct. 17 motion to reconsider filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, Valero maintains that the plaintiff’s own testimony indicates that he had actual knowledge of safe work practices.
