PHILADELPHIA –– A Philadelphia trial court has denied U.S. Steel Corp.’s motion to reconsider an order denying the benzene defendant’s efforts to extend the discovery deadline so that it could access the plaintiff’s most recent medical records.

The Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County had denied U.S. Steel’s original request on Aug. 27 in a handwritten note, noting that “discovery [is] over and a trial date has been set for October 15, 2013.”
