ST. LOUIS –– A Missouri federal court has dismissed benzene claims asserted against W.M. Barr Co., just days after the plaintiffs in the case filed a joint stipulation of dismissal.

In the Aug. 19 order, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri dismissed the claims against W.M. Barr Co., individually and doing business as Jasco Products, without prejudice.

The claims were filed on behalf of Franklin Linton Jr., whose acute myelogenous leukemia was allegedly caused by exposure to benzene-containing products. Linton was employed in a variety of positions, including as a mechanic and plant manager at a …
