Judge Grants Motion to Continue August Trial Date in Benzene Case; Trial Now Scheduled for Feb. 2014

NEW ORLEANS –– A judge overseeing a Louisiana benzene case has granted a joint motion to continue an Aug. 26 trial date, rescheduling the trial for Feb. 10, according to a recent order.

In the July 15 order, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana also noted that a new scheduling order will govern future deadlines in the case. In a separate order issued one day later, the District Court pushed the in limine motion deadline back to Jan. 8 and noted that depositions for trial should be taken no later than Dec. 30.
