South Carolina Court Grants Defense Motion to Dismiss Benzene Cross-Claims

COLUMBIA, S.C. –– A South Carolina federal court has granted a motion to dismiss with prejudice cross-claims asserted by defendants Yamaha Motor Corp., Bel-Ray Company Inc., and Safety Kleen Systems Inc., in a case involving alleged exposure to benzene.
In a consent motion filed June 21 in the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, the defendants also asked the court to order the statute of limitations tolled “as to any such cross-claims or motions concerning contribution in the above-captioned case.”
The court issued a text order on June 24, according to the court’s online docket.
