Puerto Rico Court Issues Case Management Order in Benzene Case

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico –– A Puerto Rican federal court has issued a case management order in a benzene case, forewarning the parties that “extensions to the established deadlines will not be granted.”

In the June 4 order, the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico opined that it had given the parties “ample” time to complete discovery.

As such, the court asked that the parties submit amendments by Aug. 1 and that discovery conclude by April 11, 2014. The dispositive motion deadline was set for May 16, 2014.
