South Carolina Federal Court Establishes Scheduling Order for Benzene Action

COLUMBIA, S.C. –– The court overseeing a South Carolina benzene action has issued a scheduling order, setting trial in the non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma case for January 2014.

In the May 1 order, the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina also ordered the parties to exchange initial disclosures by June 5. The order “does not permit counsel to waive these disclosures.”

Expert witnesses are to be disclosed by July 1 for the plaintiff and July 30 for the defendants, while discovery should be completed by the end of August, the order states.
