NEW ORLEANS –– A Louisiana federal court has weighed in on an expert disclosure dispute in a benzene case, ordering the plaintiffs to produce the identities of their testifying experts “once they have such information.”

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana issued the two-page order May 1, saying that the defense motion to compel was being granted “for the reasons stated on the record.” The plaintiffs had opposed the efforts by Texaco Downstream Properties Inc. to compel the identity of experts the plaintiffs plan to use in support of their claims, arguing that the defendant has …
