Louisiana Federal Court Enters Order of Dismissal in Benzene Case After Parties Reach Settlement

NEW ORLEANS –– A Louisiana federal court has entered an order of dismissal, one week after the parties filed a notice of settlement with the court.

In the one-page April 2 order, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana retained jurisdiction over the case in the event that the settlement is not consummated.

In a March 26 notice, the District Court said that “following discussions among the parties, the [case] has settled.”
