Federal Court Denies Motion to Compel Against Texaco Downstream as Moot

NEW ORLEANS –– A Louisiana federal court has denied as moot a motion to compel interrogatory answers from benzene defendant Downstream Properties Inc., noting that an agreement resulted from a March 20 hearing.
In the March 20 order, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana wrote that the parties could reargue the issues at a later date, “should circumstances so warrant.”
In February, Texaco Downstream Properties Inc. filed its own motion for a protective order after being served with the plaintiffs’ motion to compel. In the defendant’s motion, it asked the plaintiffs to narrow their requests and …
