3M Co. Seeks to Amend Answer to Benzene Suit, Intends to File Cross-Claims

PHILADELPHIA –– Benzene defendant 3M Co. has filed a motion to amend its answer to a lawsuit asserted by a mechanic, saying that it intends to assert cross-claims against its co-defendants.
In its March 5 motion, filed in the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County, 3M Co. says that it needs to add cross-claims to its answer as a result of the complaint’s ambiguity.
“Plaintiffs do not specify which of defendants’ products plaintiff was exposed to, nor do they specify where, when, or for how long he was exposed to those products,” the motion states. “As a …
