NEW ORLEANS –– Plaintiffs in a benzene action have filed a motion to compel discovery responses from Texaco Downstream Properties Inc., citing concerns that the defendant’s failure to provide any response to discovery without court intervention would set a bad precedent.
In the Feb. 17 motion, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the plaintiffs additionally argue that the defendant is delaying the proceedings.
In the complaint, the plaintiffs contend that Chris Cologne developed non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma after being exposed to benzene-containing products during his employment at Texaco and Brown & Root. Texaco and Halliburton …
