NEW ORLEANS –– A District Court in Louisiana has ordered ExxonMobil to serve a benzene plaintiff with an affidavit from an Exxon (NYSE:XOM) paralegal outlining her attempts to search for documents the plaintiff had requested from the defendant.
The Jan. 10 order issued by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana was in response to a plaintiff motion to compel that argued the defendant had been less than forthcoming with the information.
In its order, the District Court asked the Exxon paralegal to detail her search for the documents and identify any people contacted during the search. …
