PHILADELPHIA –– The deposition of a wife asserting a loss of consortium claim against Sunoco (NYSE:SUN) has been compelled, after the defendant argued that they had been unable to depose the plaintiff, despite repeated attempts.
In a Jan. 8 order, the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County compelled the deposition of Sharon Burk, ordering her to appear in Philadelphia on Jan. 30, or on another date mutually agreed upon by counsel.
The plaintiffs contend in their complaint that Russell Burk was exposed to benzene-containing products while working as a mechanic for 25 years. Burk developed Myelodysplastic Syndrome …
