Louisiana District Court Issues Order on Comparative Fault, Solidary Liability

FRANKLIN, La. –– A Louisiana District Court judge has issued a ruling separating the defendants in the case into two groups, one of which will be guided by law prior to Louisiana’s legislation establishing comparative fault.

However, Judge Edward M. Leonard of the Louisiana 16th Judicial District Court for St. Martin Parish found in the Nov. 2 ruling that the questions of indivisibility of injury or solidary liability should be left for the fact finder.
