Plaintiffs Back Testimony in Benzene Case, Say Experts’ Methods are ‘Generally Accepted’

PHILADELPHIA –– Plaintiffs in a Pennsylvania benzene case have opposed a motion to bar expert testimony, saying that the defendants “blatantly and misleadingly” mischaracterize the opinions and methods of the plaintiffs’ expert witnesses.

On Oct. 1, the plaintiffs urge the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County to recognize that “it is universally accepted and established that benzene exposure causes the two forms of cancer” that the plaintiffs has been diagnosed with.

The plaintiffs contend in their complaint that Joseph Krem was exposed to benzene in gasoline, commercial parts washers and automotive cleaning products. Krem worked and owned …
