Environmental Group Fails in Bid for Emergency Halt to EPA’s Diesel Study

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A federal court has denied an environmental group’s motion for a temporary restraining order to halt U.S. Environmental Agency studies in which humans subjects are intentionally exposed to diesel fumes or particulate matter.
Judge Anthony J., Trenga of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia signed the order Oct. 9 without offering any explanation other than it resulted from the court’s consideration of briefs, exhibits and counsels’ arguments at a hearing the same day.
