WASHINGTON, D.C. –– President Barack Obama has signed legislation that would provide healthcare for veterans alleging exposure to a variety of contaminants –– including benzene –– at Camp Lejeune’s marine base in North Carolina. Honoring America’s Veterans and Caring for Camp Lejeune Families Act of 2012, H.R. 1627 (U.S. House of Representatives).

President Obama signed the legislation on Aug. 6, noting that “…all Americans feel we have a moral, sacred duty toward our men and women in uniform.”
