Chevron Backs Motion for Sanctions; Plaintiffs Claim Motion is Now 'Moot'

NEW ORLEANS -- Chevron has backed a motion for sanctions, arguing that since the plaintiffs have not formally withdrawn their motion to strike defenses, the motion for sanctions is still appropriate. Morin, et al. v. Chevron U.S.A. Inc., et al., No. 11-45 (E.D. La.).

In a reply brief filed March 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, Chevron U.S.A. Inc. argues that the plaintiffs version of events leading up to the motion are "either wholly inaccurate or grossly misrepresented."
