Western District Court of Louisiana Enters Order Dismissing Dow Chemical

LAKE CHARLES, La. -- A Louisiana federal court has entered an order dismissing benzene claims against The Dow Chemical Company, according to a recent docket entry. Hargrove v. Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire, No. 10-00318 (W.D. La.).

In a one-page order entered December 21, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana noted that the dismissal was with prejudice.

The underlying lawsuit alleges that Johnny Harlan Hargrove developed chronic lymphcytic leukemia (CLL) after long-term occupational exposure to organic solvents.
