OAKLAND, Calif. -- A California jury has reached a defense verdict in a trial involving the claims of a former car mechanic who said that his exposure to brake cleaner caused him to develop skin discoloration. Fasuyi v. Permatex Inc., et al., No. RG 06-281952 (Calif. Super. Ct., Alameda Cty.).
The California Superior Court for Alameda County jury reached its unanimous verdict on March 24 after a 10-day trial.
Illinois Tool Works Inc. (as a successor-in-interest to Permatex Inc.) and Apollo Industries Inc. were the remaining defendants at trial, according to the verdict sheet. Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers presided …
