WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Parties subject to the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation's recent order coordinating all claims arising out of alleged water contamination at Camp Lejeune's marine base in North Carolina have exchanged briefing regarding whether the transfer to a Georgia federal court was proper. In Re: Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Water Contamination Litigation, No. 11-00026 (JPML).
While one of the plaintiffs urges the JPML to reissue its order and instead transfer the claims to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, the United States argues that the panel has already rejected that proposal.
