Parties Anticipate Closing Arguments Could Take Place Feb. 7 in Benzene Trial

LOS ANGELES -- Parties in an acute myeloid leukemia benzene case could present closing arguments as early as Feb. 7, sources told HarrisMartin Publishing. Head, et al. v. Chevron Corp., et al., No. BC358265; Hammond v. Chevron Corp., et al., No. BC366771 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).
Several sources confirmed to HarrisMartin that counsel for the plaintiffs and lone remaining defendant Shell Oil Co., began selecting jurors Jan. 18 in the California Superior Court for Los Angeles County and started oral arguments on Jan. 20. Stephen J. Czuleger of Department 3 is presiding over the trial.
