NEW ORLEANS -- Benzene plaintiffs in Louisiana have opposed a defense motion for summary judgment on diagnosis grounds, arguing that recent diagnostic tests support their claims.

In the Dec. 3 brief filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana the plaintiffs also argue that the defendant did not read its complaint accurately and that their illnesses are "fairly within the scope of the Petition for damages."

The underlying claims were filed by a group of plaintiffs who claim that their careers as laborers at an Olin Kraft Plant required them to work in close proximity …
