Louisiana Court Weighs in on Plaintiffs' Motions to Exclude Defense Experts

NEW ORLEANS -- A Louisiana federal court has ruled on five pending plaintiff motions to exclude testimony, denying some of the motions in their entirety, but setting stipulations on the testimony of the remaining experts, including that of David Pyatt, Ph.D. Sanderson, et al. v. Shell Oil Co., et al., No. 09-07336 (E.D. La.).
In the Oct. 19 order, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana specifically said that while it will allow toxicologist Pyatt to testify as to general causation in the benzene case, the expert is not permitted to testify on specific causation.
