BEAUMONT, Texas -- The parties remaining in a case involving alleged exposure to benzene in automotive paints, solvents and thinners, have reached a settlement agreement, according to a court order. Smith, et al. v. E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Co. Inc., et al., No. 08-00385 (E.D. Texas).

On Oct. 7, the U.S. District for the Eastern District of Texas signed an order on closing documents, saying that it had been advised that "all matters in the ... cause have been settled and compromised."
