NEW ORLEANS -- Two separate benzene complaints were recently filed in Louisiana federal court, both contending that exposure to benzene-containing products lead to injury. Wright, et al. v. Shell Offshore Inc., et al., No. 10-02108; Authenment v. Ingram Barge Co., No. 10-02107 (E.D. La.).
On Aug. 2, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana granted a request in one of the complaints to conduct expedited discovery, after counsel state that plaintiff Eric Wright is terminally ill.
